Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Chris played at The Ohio State University for current coach Pete Hanson, as part of Pete's first recruiting class, and was teammates with current assistant coach Tim Embaugh. After finishing his eligibility he spent a year as undergraduate assistant coach for the Buckeyes.
Chris became head coach of the boys' program at Hilliard Davidson, where his team won a state championship, and he earned several state and regional coach of the year awards. Chris was heavily involved in the processes to create the boys' volleyball coaches association and to make the boys' teams self-governing. While at Davidson, Chris is proud to have worked with many excellent coaches in the area, including CVA's own Gweyn Zechman and Audrey Flaugh. He also spent 4 years as an assistant coach for the girls' program at St. Francis DeSales High School for his wife, Pam.
After retiring from Davidson's program in 2006, Chris has been coaching several teams for his daughters at St. Andrew school.
